AAC, All Aluminum Stranded Conductor
For use in overhead transmission and distribution systems and as bus connections in substations and switchyards. Solid conductors used for mechanical and grounding applications. Classes AA and A are used primarily for overhead transmission and primary and secondary distribution,where capacity must be maintained, a lighter conductor(compared to ACSR)is desired. Classes B and C are used primarily as bus, apparat us connector sand jumpers, where additional flexibility is required.

1.Application
1)Classes AA and A are used primarily for overhead transmission and primary and secondary distribution, where capacity must be maintained and a lighter conductor (compared to ACSR) is desired, and when conductor strength is not a critical factor. Classes B and C are used primarily as bus, apparatus connectors and jumpers, where additional flexibility is required.
2)Classes refer to stranding and are an indication of relative conductor flexibility, AA being the least flexible, 
3) the most flexible.

AAAC Conductor
Are made out from aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy of high electrical conductivity (min 53% IACS) containing magnesium (0.6-0.9%) & silicon (0.5-0.9%) to give it better mechanical properties after treatment. AAAC conductors are made out of aluminum alloy 6201. AAAC conductor has a better corrosion resistance and better strength to weight ratio and improved electrical conductivity than ACSR conductor on equal diameter basis.
